Workshops
And as I have to find ways of making money and being creative, I also give workshops.

Workshop felting with untreated wool
September 2012
During my work at mOERveld I've spent some days giving felting-workshops. The pictures here are from a workshop I gave to PABO-students (teacher training, primary level) from the region. In this workshop we made felt balls with a stone inside, and bracelets. I've also given this workshop with children, of which I don't have any pictures, unfortunately. With the children (age 9) I have done flat-felting as well, in addition to the round felting you see in this picture.

Forest-experience workshops
September-November 2012
Together with the mOERveld-team I've spent some weeks guiding the 'forest behind the gate' series. In this series primary school chidren (age 8-9) came to the mOERveld site with their school class, and their class was divided into 4 groups: earth, water, wind and fire. Each group had its own 'guardian' (wachter). I was the guardian of the water. Together with 'my' water children (appr. 8 children per group) I've spent three days in three consecutive weeks roaming the forests of the area, teaching the children about nature in a creative and imaginative way. I've also given workshops such as Haiku workshops, and wood-carving. But also 'silent hunting' (being silent for 15 minutes and listening to the sounds of the forests) and blind walking were a part of the forest-curriculum.

Komt de mens niet meer verder.
Dus ook niet goed aan.

Painting workshop
September 2013
For the Pronova-school in Winterswijk I've given painting workshops for the teachers, during their teacher day. The day was in the theme of developing the vision and the mission of the school, and also to improve the connection between the teachers. In two 1,5 hour workshops of 9 teachers we've made two beautiful paintings for circus-performances of that day that will surely be hung in the school as well.

De Daktuin Utrecht
February-September 2014
As the coordinator of construction and design of De Daktuin Utrecht, a pop-up roofgarden and bar on the Uithof, Utrecht, I spent a lot of time supervising and explaining people how to make chairs, tables, and planters out of scrap wood (old pallets) that we got for free. The results were marvelous (though often this was because the people building were very talented indeed). Check out the website http://www.dedaktuinutrecht.nl/ for recent developments.
